Hull City Council has officially launched a pre-market engagement process to invite Expressions of Interest from developers keen to shape the future of Albion Square.
The move gives developers a chance to learn more about the site and present their early ideas ahead of a formal procurement process later this year, which will ultimately lead to the appointment of a lead development partner.
The vision? To transform the currently derelict but strategically located site into a vibrant, mixed-use development – combining high-quality residential living, commercial and leisure spaces, and cultural offerings. The redevelopment aligns with Hull’s Local Plan and aims to boost the city centre as a destination to live, work and visit.
“This is an exciting milestone for Albion Square,” said Gillian Osgerby, Interim Assistant Director for Major Projects and Infrastructure at Hull City Council. “We’re looking forward to opening up conversations with developers and hearing their ideas for such a key location in the heart of Hull.”
Developers interested in getting involved can access the Pre-Market Engagement documents via the council’s electronic tender portal YORtender (Ref: 97572).
The deadline to submit an Expression of Interest is 5pm, Monday 12 May 2025.
