Hammonds of Hull Sees Further Investment with ResQ Expansion

Hull’s landmark Hammonds of Hull building continues its revitalisation with the expansion of ResQ, a local contact centre company.

Yorkshire Maintenance Company, a Hull-based firm specialising in commercial fit-outs and refurbishment, is undertaking a £4.2 million project to transform the third and fourth floors of the building for ResQ. This significant investment will double ResQ’s current office space, adding to the first and second floors they already occupy.

Since first moving into the building in 2021, following the closure of House of Fraser, ResQ has steadily grown its presence within Hammonds. This latest expansion reinforces the building’s successful repurposing as a hub for local businesses.

Funding for the project comes from a combination of sources: ResQ (£2.3 million), the building’s landlord, Mansur Alabrah of Redefine Paragon Square Hull Ltd (£1.9 million), and a £315,000 contribution from the Levelling Up Fund.

Meanwhile, the fate of the ground floor remains in question. Although plans for a Lane 7 entertainment complex, complete with a bowling alley and adult games bar, were given the green light earlier this year, no further announcements have been made.

The ongoing investment in Hammonds of Hull demonstrates a positive trend of regeneration within the city centre, driven by the commitment of local businesses.
