Hull Kingston Rovers have exciting plans to expand their home ground, Craven Park. The proposed development involves constructing a temporary stand adjacent to the existing East Stand, adding nearly 1,000 seats to the stadium’s current capacity of 12,225.
While Hull KR are gearing up for the Super League Grand Final this weekend, they’re also looking ahead to the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The club has stated that the primary motivation for the expansion is to accommodate a larger number of fans for their upcoming Super League campaigns.
This news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Craven Park will host two massive Coldplay concerts on 18th and 19th August 2025, as part of the band’s “Music of the Sphere World Tour.”
Although Hull KR has indicated that the decision to utilise the new stand for the Coldplay concerts will be made at a later date, the potential for increased capacity is certainly an exciting prospect for fans hoping to snag tickets to this highly anticipated event.
The planning application is currently under review by Hull City Council, who will determine whether to grant permission for the temporary stand. This development could be a significant boost not only for Hull KR but also for the city’s ability to host large-scale events, potentially attracting even more high-profile acts like Coldplay in the future.
